Shropshire Rainbow Film Festival
Founded in 2006 Shropshire Rainbow Film Festival places LGBTQ+ lives at the heart of Shropshire's entertainment programme.
Our aim is to entertain, educate, challenge and change;
Entertain - through an annual programme of film and one off events - we want our audiences to experience the pride of LGBTQ+ folk.
Educate - with stories from all over the globe, we portray a range of experiences, offering insights into other worlds
Challenge - questioning complacency and raising awareness of issues faced by LGBTQ+ folk - not all of our films are comfortable watching.
Change - how others perceive and behave towards lesbians, gay men, bisexual people and those with different sexualities and gender identities and how we feel about ourselves.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly event offering hosting for filmmakers who have been chosen to participate in this years festival.
As well as screening films we also like to foster discussion and debate around a range of LGBTQ+ subjects and interests.
We also encourage filmmakers who attend to participate in Q&A sessions about their work.
This year (2020) there will be an Audience Award for each of the following categories.
BEST WOMEN'S SHORT (transwomen inclusive)
BEST MEN'S SHORT (transmen inclusive)
BEST QUEER SHORT (all gender identities and sexualities inclusive)
