Aishite Imasu (Mahal Kita) 1941

Country: Philippines, Language: Tagalog, 107 mins

  • Director: Joel Lamangan
  • Writer: Ricardo Lee
  • Producer: Lily Y. Monteverde; Roselle Monteverde-Teo

CGiii Comment

Lamangan's output is staggering - but, quantity does not necessarily mean quality.

The most striking aspect of this film is its similarity to Markova - and, at times it's like watching the same film.

Admiration must go to Lamangan - the story is truly epic in its scope...but, the execution is obviously blighted by a low budget - there is skill on show...next time, please go for a little more originality.
