Nantucket Film Festival
The Nantucket Film Festival is committed to presenting our event during the summer of 2021 and hopes to be able to host an in-person festival. Should public health directives rule out a strictly in-person gathering, we will pursue either a hybrid model of both in-person and online screenings, or an exclusively online model. Films submitted to the Nantucket Film Festival via FilmFreeway will be considered for whatever format is deemed most appropriate, safe, and feasible in these circumstances. We will provide updates as we become aware of any shifts to our planned presentation.
The Nantucket Film Festival was founded by brother and sister team Jill and Jonathan Burkhart in 1996. The Burkharts lived on the island year round, and with their love of movies and the community, they knew it was the perfect place to begin a film festival. In 1997, Mystelle Brabbée joined the team and today serves as the Executive Director. NFF continues to thrive, always remaining true to its mission.
These days, NFF has become one of the premiere destination film festivals in the world. Visitors come from all over to experience our preview screenings, signature programs, and stand out hospitality on a magical island rich with history, a friendly atmosphere, and beautiful sandy beaches.
